Introduction (Sus Road)
Sus Road is a road that connects Sus Village to Pashan, Pune, India. It is a residential and commercial suburb which comes in Pashan Zone (Kothrud constituency).
Sus Road is well connected to important roads and places. The Mumbai Pune Bypass road is just 3km from this place. The bypass connects this place to Mumbai-Pune Expressway and NH4. University of Pune and Chandni Chowk (Kothrud) is just 5 km. It has good connectivity via the highway to Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park Hinjewadi which has top global IT companies like Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro.
Environment
Pune Municipal Corporation has proposed a bio-diversity park in the hillocks near this road. In April 2009, A large scale tree plantation campaign was conducted and trees were planted on all the surrounding hillocks.
Commonwealth Youth Games
In October 2008, on the occasion of 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune, Sus Road was well developed by the Pune Municipal Corporation. A new 6-way road (3 each side) was laid from Pashan to the Pune Mumbai Bypass road. A small park was developed near the bypass which is frequented by people for leisure activities. One can see people rest on the side benches after their morning and evening walks.
Residents
Sus road is one of the upcoming areas of Pune; it is a preferred location by software professionals to reside due to the close proximity of the Hinjawadi software park. The area has all the modern amenities with a reliance fresh shop providing fruits and vegetables.
Education
Many schools and Colleges are there in Sus Road. The Abhinav College is a famous college. Vidya Valley school is just 4 km from Sus Road.
Research Institutes
The National Institute of Virology is a research institute in Sus Road. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam visited this place. Addition to that IISER is also located here.
